Three levels of Asset Type can be defined in accordance with your operational requirements.  The Asset Type Schema is optional.  You may or may not wish to record each asset against Level 1, 2 and 3 of an asset schema.  The three tiers should be defined in a way that will meet your management reporting requirements.
