Their are two levels of ownership for parts:

• Owned:  Supplied to you and purchased at point of Order.
• Imprest: Where the supplier continues to own the parts but supplies them into your store for your use and purchase at point of use.

 

The Freeway replenishment strategy differs depending on the ownership status (and associated cash flow implications):

'Owned' parts are replenished to an amount above the specified minimum.

'Imprest' parts are replenished to an amount above the maximum level you specify.

 

A part's ownership status is defined at a store level.  It is therefore possible for the part to be 'Owned' at Store A and 'Imprest' at Store B.
