Status options which apply to assets can be defined and provided with 'archive' settings.  For example, the following 'status options' and associated 'archive' settings can be defined:

Sold	Archive
In-Use	Live
Pre-Live	Archive
Mothballed	Archive

 

Assets that are provided a status of 'In-Use' will be shown, while those that are 'Sold', 'Pre-Live', and 'Mothballed' will be hidden because of the 'Archive' setting of these status options.
