Multiple suppliers can be linked to specific parts at a generic level.  A single part can for example have a large number of potential suppliers linked to it.  For example, Part Number 624 might be supplied by either:

• 1st Class Commercial Services
• Lucas Service UK
• Wantage Auto Parts

 

 

A single 'preferred' supplier is defined at each separate 'store'.  The single supplier per store is selected from the multiple suppliers at a generic level.  For example:

• At Store 'Reading' the preferred supplier might be 'Wantage Auto Parts', and
• At Store 'Newbury' the preferred supplier might be 'Lucas Service UK'
