Freeway can be set to record different costs for different time-bands.  There are 5 fixed time-bands in Freeway.  Examples of how these time-bands might be used are:

• Time
• Time-and-a-half
• Double-time

Each company must decide the convention that it wishes to use for the time-bands.  They can differ from those listed above.

 

The time bands apply to skill levels and a matrix of skill/charge-band costs can be built up such as:

 

	Fitter	Apprentice
Time	10	8
Time-and-a-half	15	12
Double-time	20	16

 

The matrix of skill/ chargeband are time-bound.  For example the Fitter-Rate of 20 for Double-time is set up for a specific date range such as 01/01/2005-31/12/2005.  A different rate (of say 23) may apply in the subsequent period of 01/01/2006 - 31/12/2006.

 

The above applies to the COST of labour.  Refer to the Contracts section regarding the charge-out of labour which is also affected by time-bands.
